1. What are the rental policies for time out and time used?

It varies by equipment type.  We have items with 3 hour minimum charges and items with 1 day minimums.  One day = 24 hours.  Metered equipment can have up to 8 hours logged on it during the 24 hour period.  40 hours for a weekly rental and up to 160 hours for the 4 week period.  There is a travel time allowance of 20 minutes for every rental.  Have your job prepared and ready to go to maximize your rental time.  Call us in advance to see if there are any tips or tricks that may help prepare your site to get the job done more quickly.

2. What do I need to bring when I rent from All Star Rents?

To rent equipment all you need is a valid driver’s license and a credit card.  Additionally you will want to bring a suitable vehicle to transport the equipment.

3. Do you deliver?

4. If I am having my equipment delivered how do I pay for it?

We will fax you a credit card authorization form in advance of the rental so that payment is taken care of the day of the delivery.  When our driver arrives they will need to see a valid driver’s license.

5. Do I need any type of operator certificate to rent tractors or anything?

The only items that require OSHA certification are forklifts and aerial equipment (scissor and boom lifts).

6. Can I get my certification for forklifts or aerial equipment through All Star Rents?

We do not currently offer that service.

7. What is a Quote Request?

It is like a shopping cart that allows you to request information about current rates and availability via our web site.  Once a request is sent a representative will call, email or fax you the information you requested.

8. Do you have landscaping material?

We currently carry a selection of rock and top soil at our Fairfield and Davis locations.

9. What do I need to tow a trailer?

Our standard trailer ball size is 2”.  Our larger trailers require a pintel hitch that we can rent to you if needed.  Our policy is that the GVW rating of the towing vehicle must exceed the GVW of the trailer and load being hauled.  For instance…a truck with a 7000lb GVWR can tow a trailer and load that weighs up to 7000lbs.  Most vehicles have the GVWR on a decal inside the drivers door.

10. Can I set up a credit account with All Star Rents?

Absolutely!  Our account customers benefit from having net 30 terms and ease of sending other people in to rent without the need for payment at the time of rental.  Additionally they have access to our on-line Customer Portal which allows them to review invoices, statements, equipment on rent and more!  Click here for the Application Form.

A credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express) is required at the time of rental.  Upon return we will gladly credit back to your card and take cash or check for payment.

12. How can I arrange for someone else to pick up the equipment but I want to pay for it?

We can fax you a credit card authorization form to complete that will take care of the payment.  The person you send in must be 18 years or older (21 if renting a vehicle) and have a valid driver’s license.

It is a requirement to carry vehicle insurance when renting towable equipment.  We will ask for the name of your insurance company at the time of rental.  In addition we have the Equipment Protect Plan available to our customers.  While this is not insurance it is an affordable way to protect you from the liability for damages to the equipment.  There are limitations on the coverage explained on the rental agreement.  The Equipment Protection Plan is required on vehicle rentals unless proof of insurance for the type and size of vehicle you are renting is given to us at the time of rental.
